WIASL25 - Diversität in Architektur Stadt Landschaft
Contribution of the University of Kassel to the Nationwide Festival "WIA | Women in Architecture 2025"
The Faculty of Architecture, Urban Planning and Landscape Planning at the University of Kassel conducts research and teaching on the topics of diversity, transformation and building change in numerous constellations, reflects on the role and achievements of female designers and planners in architecture, urban planning and landscape planning and promotes equality in the disciplines through discourse, professional networking and mentoring. This year's WIA Festival will be an opportunity to present these diverse activities of the faculty and put them up for discussion. The festival contribution will focus in particular on the relationship between diversity and the building turnaround and highlight the interdisciplinary design and planning approach that distinguishes the Faculty of ASL nationwide.
In the summer semester 2025, the Faculty of Architecture, Urban Planning and Landscape Planning will offer a series of courses that deal intensively with the topics of "Gender Equality and Diversity" in architecture, urban planning and landscape planning. This interdisciplinary course is aimed at Bachelor's and Master's students and includes seminars and projects that deal with issues such as gender-sensitive urban planning, community caring and inclusive spatial design.
The interim results of these courses will be made accessible to the public in an exhibition from June 18 to June 30. You can look forward to innovative and forward-looking perspectives that integrate the topics of gender and diversity in the context of architecture, urban and landscape planning.
We cordially invite you to visit the exhibition and take a look at the creative and critical approaches that have emerged from these discussions.
During the festival period from June 19 - 29, 2025, an exhibition will showcase the aforementioned topics and projects in the foyer and outdoor area of the ASL Neubau on the North Campus Holländischer Platz. On Wednesday, June 25, 2025, a one-day festival program will take place with guided tours through the exhibition and several panels and discussions on topics such as equal opportunities, gender gap and diversity in planning culture. There will be a keynote speech as part of the "Fusion" series of events taking place in the evening.
The events and exhibition are aimed at students, lecturers and employees of faculty 06 ASL and also at all university members as well as planners and interested parties from the city and region.
More information will follow shortly.
