Project visit in Munich at the DigiLLab of the TUM
The Subproject 13 in the WÖRLD joint project is picking up speed. On September 14, the first face-to-face meeting of both sites took place in Munich. The focus was on getting to know the team, which as one of two subprojects is active across locations. In addition to Prof. Dr. Manuel Förster (Technical University of Munich, TUM) and Prof. Dr. Michael Goller (University of Kassel), Theresa Bauer, Maxi Brausch-Böger and Dr. Simone König-Ziegler are reinforcing the team for TUM and Verena Pfeiffer for the University of Kassel.
The team of colleagues from TUM guided the guests confidently through the heart of the project - a digital teaching-learning laboratory (DigiLLab)which is divided into four areas and connected to the university's competence center digIT4.0@TUM is attached to it. In addition to Smart Home, the Baker Space and Health 4.0, an Industrial Space "Industry 4.0" is also available. This is where the project team would like to start and digitally integrate this area into the continuing education and training for (prospective) teachers.
The project goal is to jointly design, test, and evaluate training events that will be designed methodologically and didactically, but also in terms of content, on the topic of digitization of work and Industry 4.0. Their content is intended to be directly applicable in practice for teachers, but also to encourage them to develop their own teaching sequences. This is a challenge that the team around the two researchers is happy to take on.
Marian Thiel de Gafenco from the WÖRLD project management team provided valuable input during the project meeting. In Munich, he presented SAP4School, a way of illustrating ERP systems in the classroom. The short meeting at the TUM was very enriching for the participants. Now, the project continues with the design of the project and virtual project meetings. "We have a tight schedule, but also a very competent, motivated team," says Prof. Dr. Goller. In November, they will meet again in person in Kassel, when the next collaborative meeting of the WÖRLD project will also take place.
