Do market and globalization go together?

We are delighted to welcome Prof. Dr. Dr. Joseph Radermacher as a guest speaker as part of the "Ledomo" lecture series.

As a member of the Club of Rome, founder of the idea of a "Global Marshall Plan", author of numerous books including "Balance or Destruction" and "World with a Future", he is a vehement advocate of a global eco-social market economy.

Mr. Radermacher is a professor at the University of Ulm at the Institute for Databases and Artificial Intelligence and at the Research Institute for Application-Oriented Knowledge Processing.

The lecture will take place next Thursday, 30 January at 7 p.m. s.t. in the Kleine Aula.

Professor Möller will kindly take over the moderation.

We would like to cordially invite you to this lecture.

Content of the lecture:

"Do market and globalization go together? The potential of a global eco-social market economy."

A short abstract:

The lecture sheds light on international development against the background of the rapidly growing world population and the increasing conflict over resources and the problem of ever greater environmental pollution, e.g. in the climate sector. This makes the issue of sustainable development much more difficult. This applies both to ecological problems and to questions of social balance and justice and thus to global ethics, both from an intragenerational and an intergenerational perspective. In particular, the global cultural problem is identified as a key factor that further exacerbates the ecological-social issues. The lecture makes it clear that from a certain system-theoretical perspective, three attractors of future development can be derived from the current trends for the future, namely collapse, eco-dictatorship/brazilianization and a global eco-social market economy. Only the last path is compatible with sustainability.
The Global Marshall Plan is presented as a possible first step in this direction.
