Kurzprofil

Evans ist seit Juni 2021 Postdoktorand und Dozent für "Responsible and Sustainable Food Business in Global Contexts (RSFB)" und "Strategic Management" an der Abteilung für nachhaltiges Management in der internationalen Lebensmittelindustrie. Zuvor war Evans von Oktober 2016 bis März 2021 als Doktorand (Alumnus des International Centre for Development and Decent Work, ICDD-Stipendium) und Lehr-/Forschungsassistent für das RSFB-Modul tätig.


Seit 2021 ist Evans im Rahmen des "Diaspora 2030 Programms" der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) aktiv an der Schulung und Sensibilisierung von Kleinbauern für Kakao und andere Feldfrüchte in Ghana zu verschiedenen Nachhaltigkeitsthemen (u.a. Kinderarbeit, Klimawandel, Diversifizierung und Entwaldung) beteiligt.


Evans wurde im April 2021 an der Universität Kassel mit einer Dissertation über "Governance für menschenwürdige Arbeit in der landwirtschaftlichen Globalisierung" zum Dr. agr. promoviert. Er hat einen Master-Abschluss in nachhaltiger internationaler Landwirtschaft (mit Spezialisierung auf internationales Agribusiness und ländliche Entwicklungsökonomie) von der Universität Göttingen und Kassel, Deutschland. Außerdem hat er einen Bachelor-Abschluss in Agrarwissenschaften von der University of Cape Coast, Ghana.

Forschungsinteressen

Evans' Forschungsinteresse gilt in erster Linie dem Nachhaltigkeitsmanagement von Wertschöpfungsketten in der Agrar- und Ernährungswirtschaft (z. B. Kakao), wobei er sich besonders auf mehrere Schlüsselkonzepte konzentriert. Zu diesen Konzepten gehören:

  • Menschenrechte (u. a. Kinderarbeit, Arbeitsrechte und Arbeitsbedingungen)
  • Lebensunterhalt (u. a. wirtschaftliche Aufwertung, Rohstoffpreise und Diversifizierung)
  • Governance (u. a. Zertifizierungsstandards und Gesetze zur Sorgfaltspflicht von Unternehmen)
  • Umweltschutz (u. a. Klimawandel, Entwaldung und Pestizideinsatz)
