Theses and project work
Students from the engineering and natural sciences who wish to write their Bachelor's and/or Master's thesis in the field of structural analysis are cordially invited to contact us.
As part of a thesis, you will gain a good insight into current research topics in the field of modern structural analysis and computer-oriented mechanics. The Department of Structural Analysis deals with the development of numerical methods for modeling and simulating the behavior of materials and load-bearing structures. For this purpose, new numerical simulation methods are to be developed. This field of research gives rise to a large number of exciting questions that can be answered as part of a thesis. There is also the possibility of an interdisciplinary thesis, which is then supervised by an interdisciplinary team.
For the duration of your work, we will provide you with a workstation in the department's own new PC laboratory or in the workroom of the student assistants. During this time, you will not only gain an insight into specific work processes within our department, but also an impression of everyday scientific life at a university.
In the event that you would like your thesis to be closely related to practical issues, we can also offer you an appropriate assignment. It may make sense for you to write your thesis at an external company or in an engineering office. However, the scientific supervision remains with the Department of Structural Analysis.
Have we aroused your interest? Then simply contact us.
