1st Workshop

At the first meeting of the research group, the ICDD projects on domestic work were presented and discussed. In a public meeting, researchers from South Africa, Germany, and Switzerland outlined processes of empowering and disempowering domestic workers. The workshop included an exchange with ILO representatives and union representatives about union organizing of domestic workers, as well as the prospects of ILO activity in the field. Finally, it was discussed how to achieve decent work for domestic workers and the possibility of research to contribute to this goal. Specifically, the research program of the ICDD research group was developed.
