About the Staff Council

The Staff Council (PR) represents the interests of employees and civil servants at the University of Kassel. It is elected every four years. We support you, for example, in discussions with colleagues, superiors or the department management. In addition, we strive for structural improvements in the interests of the employees.

The work of the PR is regulated by the Hessian Staff Representation Act (HPVG). The HPVG opens up limited consultation, participation and co-determination rights, which we try to make the best possible use of.

Unfortunately, we do not have a legal representation mandate for lecturers, Professors, student assistants or colleagues from the cleaning and security services. However, the University of Kassel has recently established a council for student assistants, with which we cooperate closely. We also work closely with the Youth Trainee Representation (JAV), the Severely Disabled Persons' Representation (SBV) and the trade unions.
