Doctoral Data Model (Generation 3) – Digitalisation of the administrative process of the doctoral procedure

Context/reason:

The aim of the Doctoral Office is to digitalise the administration of the doctoral procedure. In doing so, increasingly complicated and diverse procedural constellations as well as expectations of the departments and doctoral candidates with regard to processing speed and processing form are taken into account. So far, the extensive interaction between the central administration (Doctoral Office), the departments (Dean's Office, Doctoral Board, Doctoral Committee, supervisors) and other departments involved (Dissertation Office of the Kassel University Library, Human Resources) has taken place via various applications. Although the entire doctoral process is currently documented in Converis, correspondence and processes are still largely handled outside of Converis. In future, communication and processing will be concentrated in and via Converis.
