Guestaccounts

Conference WLAN accounts are intended to make the login data available to persons outside the university at a conference or similar event, thus enabling them to log into the eduroam network. Please note that members of other universities can usually connect to eduroam with their own accounts.

A conference WLAN account is valid for a maximum of seven days and can be applied for a maximum of seven days in advance.

A guest account is intended for a person external to the university who is a guest of the university in the sense of teaching and research, i.e. who is directly connected to the university. Please note that this type of account is explicitly not intended for e.g. external companies, tenants of the Studierendenwerk and users of the University of Applied Sciences.

A guest account can be requested for a maximum of four weeks.

To request a temporary account through Identity Management, log on to.

with your primary account username and password and accept the IT User Policy by checking the appropriate box.

Then click on "Request Access."

Scroll down to the other functions and click on "Request new account".

A new window will open. Enter the requested data.

For the reason you can enter e.g. "conference WLAN" or "guest account".

For the personal data, enter either the guest's data (when applying for a guest) or your own data (when applying for a conference WLAN).

The first name, last name, and date of birth will be needed later for account activation.

In the category contact data (private) you can enter your service address.

Please select the "Guest" option in the "Account type" category. Please note that conference WLAN accounts can be requested for a maximum of seven days, guest accounts for a maximum of four weeks.

If the account is still needed after this time, please use the renewal application.

Please note the automatically generated activation code and click on "Send".
