eTranslation
With "eTranslation" [external], the European Commission offers a new free translation tool especially for EU institutions, universities, freelance translators, small and medium-sized enterprises, public administrations and in the context of projects funded by the "Digital Europe" program [external].
Employees and students of the University of Kassel can use this service free of charge . With eTranslation, you have the option of automatically translating texts into 27 languages. eTranslation is available to you after registration as an online service and provides translations of individual sentences and text passages as well as entire texts as finished Word documents, which are sent to you by e-mail.
The tool provides raw machine translations that you can use to capture the text content or as a starting point for a human translation. For a precise, high-quality translation, the text still needs to be professionally revised.
eTranslation also offers a web service API for machine-to-machine interactions from approved parties. This means that approved developers and organizations have the ability to seamlessly integrate translation capabilities into their own applications and systems, enabling extensive and automated access to multilingual services.
