Dr. Kerstin Wolff (born 1967) studied history, political science and art history at the Gesamthochschule Kassel. She completed her studies with a thesis on the Reichsverband Deutscher Hausfrauenarbeit. Between 1995 and 1998 she was a research assistant in the research project "Confession, Religiosity and Political Action of Women at the End of the 16th to the Beginning of the 19th Century," funded by the VW Foundation under the direction of Prof. Dr. Heide Wunder at the University of Kassel.

Since 1999 she has been a research officer at AddF - Archive of the German Women's Movement, Research Institute and Documentation Center. In 2002 she completed her doctorate with a thesis on the influence of bourgeois women on local politics in the German Empire. This work was awarded the Elisabeth Selbert Prize of the State of Hesse in 2003. Since 2000 she has been - with interruptions - editor of Ariadne - Forum for Women's and Gender History. For many years she has been an irregular lecturer at the university, since 2018 permanently with Prof. Dr. Hubertus Büschel (Chair of Modern and Contemporary History).
