The research seminar is linked to the design project “Urban conflicts in housing developments – 3 core drillings in Berlin”.
The aim of the research seminar is to analyze the issues and conflicts that emerge around three Berlin urban development projects at their various project stages. In doing so, we want to shed light on the topics and instruments that have the potential to make future construction ecologically sound and affordable, that is accessible for all: non-profit housing development competitions, leaseholds, community land trusts, cooperative concepts and many more.
The seminar responds to emerging issues that arise from discussions with experts from planning, politics and administration as well as from inhabitants and neighbours. Our goal is to develop a deep understanding at the processes at work with regards to the housing crises and possible ways out.
