Pfeiffer Foundation for Architecture

An important sponsor of the faculty is the Pfeiffer Foundation for Architecture. The purpose of the Pfeiffer Foundation is to promote science and research, artistic development as well as education and training, primarily in the field of architecture at the University of Kassel, both nationally and internationally.

The Pfeiffer Foundation pursues exclusively non-profit purposes. In particular, it aims to promote innovative and resource-conserving as well as health-friendly and health-promoting processes and products.

Another focus is on internationalisation and international exchange.

Announcement of the Pfeiffer Foundation Prize for Architecture 2024

The Pfeiffer Foundation is once again awarding the prize for the best final theses of faculty 06 this year. The award recognizes outstanding achievements by graduates in the fields of architecture, urban planning and landscape planning.

Nominated works in categories I and II must be submitted by hand on the following dates:

  • Thursday, 19.12.24

Requirements: Graphic representation of the work with the necessary site plans, floor plans, views, sections, perspective representations, material selection plan format and model shots exempted. It is possible to submit a maximum of 2 A0 plans and/or models and/or material samples. It is also possible to submit several models.



Nominated works in category III must be sent digitally to pfeifferpreis@asl.uni-kassel.de by 09.12.24.


Requirements: Submission of the work with a short expert opinion from the supervisor

The objectives of the foundation are to be realised by

  • awarding scholarships to students, doctoral candidates and artists
  • awarding prizes for very good theses and dissertations
  • supporting and organizing academic and artistic events
  • supporting research and development projects
  • awarding research contracts and scholarships
  • awarding grants for investments including hardware and software
  • issuing and otherwise promoting relevant publications
  • supporting international exchange, for example through excursions
  • supporting other institutions, facilities and associations that pursue the same purposes as the foundation
