Exploring the potential of internationally oriented transport education in formal education
Project objective
How can adolescents aged 11-14 with diverse mobility biographies be equally prepared for safe and sustainable mobility?
The "Verkehre der Welt" project explores the possibilities of diversity-oriented mobility education for pupils in the 5th and 6th grades, taking into account different cultural backgrounds and previous experiences with the topic of mobility.
The aim is to develop a scientifically sound and culturally sensitive learning module that promotes road safety and sustainable mobility choices. Findings from road safety education in Germany and the Netherlands as well as other international perspectives will be taken into account. Needs and challenges will be identified in interviews and focus groups with young people and teachers. The materials developed are intended to be interactive, practical and applicable to various school subjects. After a pilot phase, the module will be evaluated and optimized to enable sustainable implementation in schools.
