Brief description
In the presence of dynamic process models, efficient model-based design methods could be applied and model-based applications could be developed. This is important for some problems, such as in the areas of control systems, diagnosis systems, simulation systems and prognosis systems. However, in practice the effort should be made for modeling a restrictive factor for the prevalence of model-based applications. A (partial automation) of the modeling process is therefore of great interest.
For mechatronic systems with a strong friction, methods of automated robust estimation of semi-physical and non-linear empirical models for the hardware-in-the-loop simulation should be developed and implemented in this project. The issues regarding systematic test signal design, robust methods for parameter estimation and automated model validation should be treated.
