European border regions and cross-border cultural networks
Spatial planning in spaces of cultural networking
The research project combines three themes: cross-border regional development, cross-border cultural networks, and regional communities. The combination of these three areas is underrepresented in the literature. The existence of different border communities has implications for regional development in border regions. Underlying cross-border regions are diverse cultures with a high degree of commonality and interactive cultural networks.
The objectives of the project are:
- the analysis of cultural networks of cross-border communities and
- the development of recommendations for action for regional development in complex border regions.
