Fachwerkgarten

The Fachwerkgarten  is located in front of the half-timbered house, directly on Gottschalkstraße. It is a public learning space and meeting place for all members of the faculty and the University of Kassel.

It was created in the 1980s alongside the renovation of the half-timbered house as a reinterpretation of a traditional cottage garden. The Department of Open Space Planning has been responsible for the Fachwerkgarten since summer 2021.

The garden is open to everyone. Please observe the following few usage rules:

    • Please dispose of garbage and cigarette butts in the garbage can on the Kolbenseeger wall opposite the garden entrance.
    • Please place deposit bottles  in the deposit box on the lantern at the garden entrance.
    • Please also collect and dispose of (dog) excrement.
    • The Fachwerkhaus houses two departments and student work and seminar rooms. We ask all users to use the garden quietly during regular office and teaching hours.
    • Please do not step on or break through beds and hedges, and please leave flowering plants standing even if they have already finished flowering.
