Scientific Talent
The institutes represented in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering are among the most innovative units at the University of Kassel. This is not least thanks to our young academic talents, who are significantly involved in the development of new technologies and processes. This gives them a central role in everyday research. Some of them will also hold professorships themselves in the future and thus shape the German research landscape. But despite their importance, young scientific talents usually work in the background and remain unrecognised. To change this, we regularly report on thesis defense and habilitation procedures. Here, young academics provide insights into their doctoral and habilitation periods: What did they do research on? Why did they decide to pursue an academic career? How has their time at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering shaped them and what does their professional future look like?
