Part-time, 50% of the regular workhours of a full-time employee; temporary employment for 36 months with the possibility of extending the contract for a further two years(qualification corresponding to § 65 HHG i. V. m. § 2 Abs. 1 Satz 1 WissZeitVG; artistic qualification)

 

Tasks:

You will help with administration and organization of the new study area of Games, in the department Visual Communication at Kunsthochschule Kassel. You will assist the professor and tutor students.

 

  • Research and co-teaching, as well as 4 academic hours per week of independent teaching.
  • Preparation and realization of lectures, seminars, tutorials and field trips.
  • Assistance in the application for and realization of research projects.

 

Requirements:

Candidates must have completed studies with the equivalent of a Master’s degree at an art college or university and have an ongoing practice as a visual artist or creative programmer. Your portfolio must document physical, 2D or 3D games you have been involved with and illustrate your experience working in game engines (Unity, Unreal etc.)

We are looking for an active, forward thinking, and documented participation in the field of independent game development and game culture. Preferably you are exploring the experimental edge of game aesthetics and game narrative. Previous teaching experience is a plus.

 

German language proficiency is expected.

English language proficiency is required.
