Full Professorship (W3) in Didactics of Biology - Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences

In teaching, didactics of biology has to be represented in the teacher training study programmes for secondary schools (Gymnasien, Haupt- und Realsschulen) as well as in general science for elementary schools.

Desirable qualities are teaching experience in the context of education for sustainable development, experience with didactical learning labs in biology, and the readiness to continue and develop existingoffers in the area of didactics of biology at Kassel University.

Collaboration in the Center for Teacher Training (ZLB) and the Center for Empirical Research in Teaching and Instruction (ZELL) is expected, as well as the successful acquisition and implementation of third-party funded projects. Furthermore successfully acquired third-party funds are expected as well as experience in project management and human ressources management.

Cooperation in academic self-management is an obligatory intergral part of the position to be filled.

The advertised position is subject to the requirements set out in paragraphs §§ 61, 62 Higher Education Act of Hessen (Hessisches Hochschulgesetz).

In addition to a doctorate in biology didactics or in biology, the prerequisites for employment are relevant habilitation or habilitation-equivalent achievements as well as teaching experience in the field of biology didactics. According to § 62 of the Hessian Higher Education Act, practical school experience must be proven.
