We are looking for an excellent scientist with an internationally recognized research portfolio in systematics, evolution and diversity of plants. Research should ideally combine morphological and molecular methods. The successful candidate is expected to be willing to collaborate with other departments at the Institute of Biology of the University of Kassel. Multidisciplinary collaboration with the working groups of the Organic Agricultural Sciences and/or Nanoscience of the University of Kassel is also desirable. In teaching the candidate should broadly represent the field of Botany (including Bachelor and Master degree programmes in Biology, teaching degrees for the secondary modern, the junior high as well as the secondary schools). A contribution to the Bachelor and Master degree programmes in Nanoscience is optional.

 

Cooperation in academic self-management is an obligatory integral part of the position to be filled.

 

The conditions of employment include besides a PhD in Biology or a related discipline a habilitation (or equivalent), as well as experience with teaching Botany. In addition, experience with successful application for and completion of externally funded projects is required.

 

The employment and performance requirements apply pursuant to §§ 61, 62 of the Higher Education Act of Hessen. The ability to teach in German is a prerequisite for a successful application.
