Research Associate (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - Globalisation and Politics

Part-time position with two-thirds of the regular full work time; fixed-term, initially for three years (Qualifikationsstelle gem. § 65 HHG i. V. mit § 2 Abs. 1 Satz 1 WissZeitVG). The successful candidate can qualify for a doctoral degree.

Tasks:

• Contribution to research and teaching in the area of “Globalisation and Politics”
• Organisational and substantive support for a post-doc in preparing third-party funding applications on “International organisations and post-growth ideas”, especially through research assistance work
• Independent research in political science (doctoral thesis)

Essential skills:

• Excellent or very good degree in politics (MA or equivalent) with a specialisation in International Relations, International Political Economy or global governance
• Proven ability to work in teams, communication skills
• Proven ability to undertake thorough and independent work
• Excellent command of the English language (in both writing and speaking)

Desirable skills:

• Theoretical and/or practical knowledge of post-growth approaches (e.g., degrowth, post-GDP or ecological economics) and in organisation sociology
• Experiences in applying social science methods (e.g., interviews or content analysis)
• Experiences in using software for data analysis (e.g., MAXQDA, NVivo or R)
• Work experience in international organisations (e.g., in the context of internships)
• International experience (e.g., study abroad)
• Command of the German language
