Foundation Engineering Additions

Type of module:
Compulsory elective module - consisting of foundation engineering supplements and foundation engineering seminar.

Course content:
Calculation of surface foundations using the subgrade reaction and constrained modulus method; additions to the calculation and design of individual piles (lateral pressure, horizontally loaded piles, negative skin friction); pile groups; combined pile-slab foundations; dewatering; additions to the calculation and design of excavation pits (depth, sliding joint, anchoring, serviceability, subgrade reaction modulus method); underpinning and undercutting.
