UNITRACE Workshop Kenya
Workshop and Conference: Tracer Studies in Eastern Africa: Findings and their Relevance for University Strategies and Curriculum Development.
11th – 13th February 2013, Kenyatta University Conference Centre, Nairobi, Kenya.
The regional workshop and conference in Eastern Africa was the starting point of dissemination of tracer study approaches, methodology, and results of surveys undertaken in the framework of the University Graduate Tracer Study Training (UNITRACE) to the stakeholders in the region as well as of networking among researchers and institutions of higher education.
In the framework of the training program conducted by INCHER-Kassel at the University of Kassel in Germany, professional tracer studies were carried out by the UNITRACE participants from the Kenyatta University, Moi University and Addis Ababa University. The aim was to provide systematic information on the relationships between study and graduate employment and work, graduates’ satisfaction with postgraduate programs, quality of teaching, transition to the labour market, and related themes.
Furthermore, the regional conference in Eastern Africa aims to address the relevance of tracer studies and demonstrate the examples of good practice.
This workshop and conference was part of the DIES program – “Dialog on Innovative Higher Education Strategies” which has been jointly coordinated by DAAD and HRK since 2001.
