Gradua is a network of 20 Higher Education (Research) Institutions from Europe and Latin America. It aims to implement systematic graduate follow-up at universities.

Systematic graduate follow-up is a key element for improving educational quality, since any information obtained through this activity is very useful for the evaluation of institutional results related to graduate and employer preparation and satisfaction, and as an orientation for decision making in different areas. Despite this, a majority of universities do not have systematic graduate follow-up programs.

The main objective of the GRADUA2 Project, which started in 2004 supported by the ALFA Program of the European Commission, was to foster the knowledge transfer about graduate follow-up studies between European and Latin American higher education institutions. A Manual for Graduate Follow- Up Instruments represents the culmination of two years' work on the Project, which integrated the experience of the participating universities and institutions (10 from Latin America and 11 from Europe). Kerstin Janson, Harald Schomburg and Ulrich Teichler from INCHER-Kassel conducted additionally to their contributions to the Manual a study about graduate follow-up activities of German higher education institutions.
