A3: Root growth, nutrient and water acquisition

This project investigates how root growth, and thus nitrogen and water acquisition, reacts in mixed crops compared to pure crops and when perennial plants are included. In particular, a more complete utilization of the available soil volume with higher nitrogen and water uptake from the subsoil is expected.
