Data optimization in the existing research information system

The existing FIS of the University of Kassel is already used extensively for a number of internal university processes - such as doctoral administration, internal allocation of funds and the presentation of externally funded projects and publications. Through the quality offensive for data optimization, further content already entered into the central FIS is to be sifted and checked. 

A major focus will be on information on prizes and awards, memberships, collaborations and patents, with the aim of filtering and preparing this for subsequent use. 

One result of the project should be the development of binding guidelines and manuals for the entry and presentation of data in the FIS. At the same time, the research information system is to guarantee comprehensive information for scientists, members of the administration and external parties about the current status of research activities and achievements.
