Therefore, in cooperation with other institutions, the University of Kassel, offers a variety of options for holiday childcare. You can find current information on this page.

The children think about how they would like to live, deal with ecological building and insulation materials and build their "house of the future" as a model.
Sternental is back!
Dear families,
during the upcoming summer vacations, the well-known Sternental will finally be back. Sternental is a so-called children's city, where about 150 children per week can participate in various activities and offers. During the daily registration, the children can choose an occupation they would like to do for the day. In the process, the children can earn star talers and also spend them in the star valley. Every Tuesday there is a mayoral election to simulate the democratic processes of a real city.
The Daimler canteen takes care of the catering and cooks delicious meals especially for the children. Every Friday, a barbecue is held in Sternental. Allergies or the children's wishes can be catered for.
This year, for example, we have the fashion studio again, where the children can sew or do all kinds of different things with fabrics. In addition, together with the artist Arya Atti, the fence of the Sternental will be embellished. In the garden area, the children will mix flower or herb seeds for their garden together with the team members. There will also be a workshop from the adventure company, as well as the upcycling workshop offered by the trainees. Upcycled items will be raffled off at the end of the Star Valley. For older children, there will be an opportunity to try out using social media in a protected space through the advertising agency's profession.
In addition to the workshops, there are also exciting excursions such as a factory tour, to the fire department or a trip to the children's farm in Kassel. There is also a visit from a real truck, which the children can then look at up close and from the inside.
The leisure activities outside the workshops are also very varied. There is a sports arena where basketball, soccer and other ball sports can be played. To cool down, there is our water facility on the square. New is our kettcar track, where kids can do a kettcar challenge.
After a long break, the parents' garden is also finally returning! Here you can linger, order drinks and chat while you wait for your child/children.
So there are lots of great experiences waiting for the kids during the third (07.08.2023-11.08.2023) and fourth (14.08.2023-18.08.2023) week of summer vacation! Children aged 6 to 13 years can participate. Cost 80 euros / child per week.

Sternental is organized by Markus Paul GmbH. The University of Kassel will also be on site with an offer for the children.
Places for the University of Kassel are limited - it pays to be quick! Your child can also bring a friend - just register with them.
