Rebecca Stephany was appointed Professor of Editorial Design/Graphic Design in the Visual Communication program at the School of Art and Design in December last year. She studied graphic design in Offenbach and Amsterdam and obtained her MfA in Critical Studies at the Sandberg Instituut Amsterdam. From 2016 to 2021, Stephany was Professor of Communication Design at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design. Together with designer Anja Kaiser, she published the symposium and publication project "Glossary of Undisciplined Design" in 2021. Feminist social criticism fuels her deliberately undisciplined research tools and visual articulations. Her teaching in the Editorial Design department at the School of Art and Design in Kassel explores and conveys a correspondingly critical and independent artistic-design practice between service and her own work.
