Annual report and sustainability report published by the University of Kassel

The annual report describes relevant developments of the past year: the university has acquired a number of top-class research projects; the Collaborative Research Center ELCH on the chirality of molecules stands out here.

There is also a special focus on documenta 14, which the university hosted at the Holländischer Platz campus, among other places, and also critically accompanied with many events.

The report also contains key figures, such as the development of student numbers, as well as excerpts from the 2017 annual financial statements.

The annual report comprises 129 pages in color print. In addition to many illustrations of the university locations and research projects, it also contains a portrait of personalities who teach, work or study at the University of Kassel and introduce themselves with a short text in line with the individual topic sections.

The second sustainability report on research, teaching and operations takes stock of the last few years and at the same time sets new goals for the future. The period under review is the years 2014 to 2016, during which the University of Kassel achieved some of its goals. The topic of sustainability is an important part of the University of Kassel's guidelines.

For example, energy-efficient new buildings have reduced energy consumption per square meter; residual waste has been reduced by 20 percent in recent years thanks to the introduction of a waste concept. As a Germany-wide pilot university, Kassel is implementing the concept of intracting: Savings from energy-saving measures flow into new measures. Supported by the cdw Foundation, the University of Kassel will be investing in solar panels on the roofs of university buildings over the next few years. Most of the vehicle fleet has been converted to hybrid and electric cars. Powerful charging stations for electric cars are now also being installed.

Both reports have been produced in a high-quality print version. The annual report and the sustainability report contain many illustrations and graphics.
