Water action day 2024 at the engineering school

On July 3, 2024, everything in the foyer of the engineering school revolved around the topic of water.

The benefits of tap water consumption were highlighted on the day of action: When we consume tap water, we not only save a lot of_CO2 and (plastic) bottles, tap water is also a much cheaper solution compared to bottled water: for one liter of bottled water, you get about 200 liters of tap water. It is also available almost everywhere, very easily and around the clock. These advantages over bottled water and the fact that tap water is not only of excellent quality at the University of Kassel and is regularly checked was made clear in the online seminar by a tip:tap.

To make drinking water even more attractive, there was "infused water" on the water bike for visitors at the water action day. The Techniker Krankenkasse health insurance company and the University of Kassel's occupational health management team provided information on the topic of health and drinking enough water. At university sports, a body composition measurement with a focus on water could be carried out and rowing ergometers could be tried out. The Uganda Team e.V. and Engineers without Borders took visitors to Uganda under the motto "Drinking water as a luxury good?". The topic of  consumption & water from a global perspective was also explored at the water handprint workshop. There was also the opportunity to view an interactive heavy rain hazard map for Kassel. The Finep caricature exhibition made visitors smile.

The focus of the day of action was the inauguration of the drinking water dispenser in the foyer of the engineering school. We are delighted that a water dispenser will soon be installed at every university location.
