Campus Lingo (CL)
Use of CL in the FBs
Please check with your responsible Typo3 manager in the Faculty whether Campus Lingo is used in the respective Typo3 instance.
Working with CL
If there are no translations on a page, CL takes care of everything completely automatically. A corresponding note is displayed under the heading.
There is already translated content
In this case, CL translates all content for which there are no translations yet and the same message is displayed.
Entire page has been translated
In this case, CL does nothing.
Opportunities to influence CL
- If individual pages or complete page trees are not to be translated, this can be controlled in the page properties of the respective page by activating the corresponding checkbox "No automatic translation ...".
- Content elements
The Language tab can be used to control whether or not a translation should be created by CL for the respective element. This can be useful if, for example, images in German are not to be displayed. - Output note:
In some cases, the note is output even though all content has actually been translated. This may be due to meta information on images or files, for example. Which content from which table should not trigger this message can be defined in the configuration of the extension. - Individual words or sentences that should not be translated
Individual words or sentences that should be translated into English in exactly the same way can be marked with three tildes (∼∼∼∼This should remain as it is∼∼∼∼). CL then outputs the content between the three tildes in exactly the same way.
- Only translate the desired elements.
- If necessary, adapt the English content accordingly.
- Have all other elements translated by CL.
- Simply deactivate English content that should not be displayed.
