Research assistant (EG 13 TV-H) - in the field of civil law, corporate law and information law

The University of Kassel is a young university with around 25,000 students. It has an exceptionally broad profile with the competence fields of nature, technology, culture and society. Its DLT research group investigates the fundamentals and application areas of distributed ledger technology (blockchains, cryptocurrencies, smart contracts).

with 75.00 percent of the regular working hours of a full-time employee. The position is limited until 31.12.2020 as part of the project "DLT Basic Research" (§ 2 para. 2 WissZeitVG). The preparation of a dissertation is part of the project work.

Your tasks:

• Scientific collaboration in two sub-projects as part of the above-mentioned project:
  1. Crypto-Assets - blockchain-based assignment of rights to persons (about two thirds)
  2. Changes in market structures and processes through the use of blockchains / smart contracts - C2B instead of B2C (about one third)

Your requirements:

• Above-average academic degree in law or business law with additional knowledge in the field of information sciences

Advantageous are:

• Previous knowledge in the field of distributed ledger technology
• Previous knowledge in one of the areas of economic analysis of law, competition law or competition theory/industrial economics
• Strong scientific interest
• Good knowledge of English as a scientific language
• a thorough and independent way of working
• a high degree of organizational skills
• programming experience
