Research assistant (EG 13 TV-H) - in the field of EVS

The position is initially limited for 3 years with the possibility of extension for another 2 years (qualification position according to § 65 HHG in conjunction with § 2 para. 1 sentence 1 WissZeitVG). The possibility of doctoral studies is given.

Tasks:

The position holder is expected to perform teaching and research tasks in the area of high efficiency power electronic energy converters and power supply technology. In the creation of new converters, the focus is on circuit concepts as well as new semiconductor elements, in particular based on Wide Band Gap (WBG) materials as well as magnetic materials. Design and realization of converter topologies and driver circuits for the extremely fast switching elements are in the foreground. This is a qualifying position with the possibility of a Ph.D. degree in engineering.

Requirements:

• Completed scientific university studies in electrical engineering with a specialization in power electronics/energy engineering with good/very good grades.
• Experience in the practical realization of power electronic/energy systems and/or subsystems
• knowledge and experience in modeling and simulation of analog and power electronic circuits
• good command of English
• skills in interpretation, preparation and presentation of technically demanding presentation and transmission forms
• confident use of software for the preparation of technical documentation
• creativity
• goal-oriented working style

Advantageous are:

• good knowledge in the areas of object-oriented programming in Java, software design, data structures, algorithms and XML
• experience in the areas of cellular networks
