Research Assistant (EG 13 TV-H) - in the Department of Theoretical Physics III

Part-time with half the regular working hours of a full-time employee. The position is initially limited until 31.12.2021 as part of the third-party funded project "Extreme light for the analysis and control of molecular chirality" (§ 2 Abs. 2 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given.

Your tasks

• Scientific collaboration in the above-mentioned third-party funded project on the theoretical description of photoionization dynamics in chiral molecules
• Development of a time-dependent electron structure theory for chiral molecules including software implementation
• Communication and collaboration in an interdisciplinary project network

Your requirements:

• A scientific university degree (Master's or comparable) in physics, chemistry or mathematics with good to very good results
• Profile in theoretical physics, theoretical chemistry or applied mathematics, proven by a relevant thesis
• Programming experience

Advantageous are:

• Previous knowledge of atomic and molecular physics and quantum dynamics
• Previous knowledge of electron structure theory
• Experience with Fortran
• Thorough and independent way of working
• a high degree of organizational skills and team spirit
