Tasks:

  • scientific collaboration in research and teaching in the field of foundry technology GTK
  • independent processing of the research subareas: investment casting process / investment microstructure formation / molding materials (inorganics), die casting, rheo casting, simulation - experiment comparison
  • Representation and documentation of research results: Conferences, industrial partners, wiss. Publications
  • Acquisition of third-party research funds
  • Support in teaching, internships, excursions as well as in the structural organization of the FG Foundry Technology.

 

Requirements:

  • At least a good university degree in the field of mechanical engineering, foundry technology, lightweight construction/design, materials engineering, or similar.
  • very good knowledge of Fe casting materials, inorganic molding materials, lightweight casting materials and processes
  • very good knowledge in component, tool and process design and simulation, implementation of measurement technology/measurement sensor technology including data determination and evaluation; thermal analysis/DTA
  • Experience in handling liquid metal melts, melting aggregates, die casting processes, molding materials.

 

Advantageous are:

  • Prior knowledge of theoretical test design and practical test execution and evaluation
  • experience in dealing with industrial partners and working on industrial projects
  • a high degree of teamwork, ability to work under pressure, organizational skills and independent work
