Tasks:

  • we are looking for enthusiastic collaborators in the field of quantum information processing, with the possibility to pursue a PhD. Within the project SMoLBiTs (scalable molecular quantum bits) we explore integrated platforms of quantum information processing within an interdisciplinary team of physicists, chemists and electrical engineers
  • the scope of the advertised position includes the development of a theoretical model describing the photonic as well as thermal coupling of a molecule to a photonic crystal environment. In this context, we are interested in the quantum properties of the light emitted by molecules, and the possibility to generate qubits. In collaboration with partners from theory and experimental physics, these systems will be fabricated and their properties will be analyzed.
  • the possibility of independent work, management of a research project, scientific publications, international conference visits is given. Our project partners from industry and academia enable research on state-of-the-art technologies and devices as well as the formation of diverse contacts

Requirements:

  • Completed university degree (Master's in Phys., ET, or Mathematics), knowledge of electromangetic theory, quantum physics, numerical methods, and programming. The position is suitable for pursuing a Ph.

Advantageous are:

  • previous knowledge in electromagnetic theory, semiconductor physics, numerical methods and programming
  • thorough and independent working methods
