The University of Kassel is also being funded in the second phase of the federal-state program "Quality Pact for Teaching" with its concept "Growth and Quality". For the project "Advising and Self-Information of Students and Prospective Students", the position is to be filled for a limited period of two years -limitatively until 31.12.2020- according to §§ 40 No. 8, 30TV-H; § 14 Abs. 2Teilzeit- und Befristungsgesetz.

Only candidates who have not previously been employed by the State of Hesse can be considered; this does not apply to a vocational training relationship.

With the project "Counseling and Self-Information of Students and Prospective Students", the University strengthens the counseling services in terms of quantity and quality and supports the transition from school to university.

The advertised project position will develop and implement concepts and measures for a well-founded study decision of prospective students as well as offer additional support services in the study entry phase.

Job Profile:

• Conceptual development and implementation of workshops for study orientation and study disci- sion with the target groups prospective students in graduating classes, prospective students with a professional qualification as well as school classes,
• Development of materials for teachers to support study orientation in schools,
• Technical and organizational guidance for student assistants in the planned expansion of the first-semester consultation hours. The first-semester consultation hour supports students in the introductory phase of their studies in "finding their way" into their studies, provides information on support services and offers help with the first signs of a crisis in their studies,
• Participation in internal and external project communication and reporting with regard to funding within the framework of the Teaching Quality Pact.

Requirements profile:

• Scientific university degree (preferably from the fields of pedagogy, social sciences, psycho- logy),
• Experience in the conception and implementation of workshops,
• Experience in the development of didactic materials,
• Experience in working with the target groups of prospective and current students is desirable,
• Relevant knowledge of the higher education system and the degree program system,
• Ability to work in a team on the project,
• Experience in using office programs is required.
