4 Postdoctoral researcher for the establishment of junior research groups (EG 14 TV-H)

Job profile:

In coordination with a department of your choice at the University of Kassel, you will design and apply for third-party funding for your junior research group's own research project within the initial two-year funding period and carry out the preliminary work for it. With regard to a promising application for the establishment of the planned junior research group, the integration of the planned project into the scientific environment at the University of Kassel is important and must be presented in a concept as part of the application. During the application phase and the preparatory work, you will be supported for up to three years by a research assistant (EG 13 TV-H, second third of full-time). Your employment can be extended for up to a further year if you have submitted a corresponding application to a funding organization, the funding decision is still pending or the approved start of funding does not immediately follow the two-year period.

In accordance with your subject area, you offer courses amounting to four semester hours per week. The same applies to the assigned position of research assistant in accordance with the scope of the position.

Requirements profile:

You

• have successfully completed your doctorate no more than three years ago,
• have relevant research and publication experience, including international experience, which qualifies you to lead a junior research group and meets the requirements of the desired funding format,
• are planning a forward-looking research project in a research field that is compatible with the University of Kassel.

Applicants are expected to submit an elaborate exposé on the acquisition of a junior research group with a description of the envisaged follow-up funding - including alternatives if applicable. The exposé must include a detailed time and work plan for two years. The implementation of the project must be supported by a department of the University of Kassel.
