Library employee (EG 9 TV-H) - In the University Library - Regional Library and Murhard Library of the City of Kassel

Part-time with initially 90% and from 01.09.2019 with half of the regular working time of a full-time employee. The employment is for the purpose of replacing employees on leave and is initially limited until 31.12.2020 (§ 14 para. 1 sentence 2 No. 3 TzBfG).

Tasks:

• integrated media processing (acquisition and cataloging) of media
• working at the service desk of the campus library (library information and advice)
• Providing information (user training: library introductions/guided tours).

Requirements:

• Completed university degree in librarianship or bachelor's degree in library and information science
• Knowledge in the field of acquisition and cataloging
• Knowledge in the use of library application software, especially the PICA modules
• Knowledge of rules and regulations (RDA, RAK-WB)
• Knowledge of bibliographic and other reference tools in electronic and conventional form
• Knowledge of research possibilities in catalogs and bibliographic databases
• willingness to work late and on Saturdays
• flexible working hours to meet the needs of the service
• willingness to participate in continuing education

Advantageous are:

• Experience with the tasks, proven by practical work.
