Engineer (EG 11 TV-H) - In the Department of Construction, Technology and Real Estate - Technology and Infrastructure Group

Tasks:

Centralized control of maintenance and repair planning for building services equipment:

• Control of internal operational maintenance and repair planning.
• Planning, deployment and controlling for the area of external service providers
• Documentation and reporting for the area of maintenance and repair services
• Preparation of appropriate make-or-buy decisions

Contracting out maintenance services as well as technical inspections by experts and specialists

• Awarding of maintenance contracts incl. minor repairs
• Awarding of expert and specialist inspections of technical building equipment systems
• Control, acceptance and billing of services

Awarding, control, acceptance and invoicing of minor maintenance work and improvements to technical installations of all kinds in existing buildings:

• Obtaining bids and invitations to tender for repair, conversion and renewal work on technical installations
• Preparation of specifications, preparation of contract conclusions
• Control, acceptance and accounting of the services

It is envisaged that the post holder will be responsible for deputizing in the absence of the group manager for technology and infrastructure in the area of technical building management.

The work assignment for the job holder is generally to take place at the Holländischer Platz location of the University of Kassel, although the work assignment may also take place at other university locations depending on operational requirements.

Requirements:

• completed university studies with a degree as Dipl.- Ing (FH)/ Bachelor in the field of electrical engineering, hospital operations technology, facility management or in a related field
• broad and in-depth knowledge in all areas of technical building equipment and technical building management
• Comprehensive knowledge of the regulations for maintenance and testing of technical systems in accordance with the TPrüfVO, the VDE and VDI guidelines and corresponding standards, the guidelines and accident prevention regulations of the professional associations, the workplace ordinance and the operational safety ordinance and corresponding regulations
• Experience in the area of AMEV and VDMA guidelines including the associated contracts
• Basic knowledge of business administration
• Basic knowledge in the area of GEFMA guidelines and in the area of infrastructural building management Knowledge in the area of public procurement (VOB, VOL, LHO, procurement guidelines, procurement manual, etc.)
• Knowledge of common software systems (Office, Outlook, etc.)
• Driving license class B
• Motivation, commitment and a high willingness to serve
• A broad spectrum of technical knowledge
• Willingness for continuous training and further education
• Willingness to participate in the general on-call duty of the University of Kassel

Advantageous are:

• Completed vocational training as an electronics technician for operating technology/building and energy technology or in a related field, or further training as an electrician for defined activities.
• Knowledge of the SAP PM module and the CAFM system IFMS.
