Workshop: Television Journalism - Working in Television

Among the professions that have "something to do with media" is working in a television editorial department. As is usual in journalism, the basic tasks here are to edit texts or write them yourself. Even more important, however, is telling a story and linking it with gripping and emotional images. It is essential to be able to "think in pictures" and to have basic knowledge of camera work and digital image editing.

This information about the job description can be found by anyone who is interested, and without having to ask an expert. But what does the day-to-day work actually look like? Are there regulated procedures or do you usually have to be able to react spontaneously and flexibly? What personal skills do you need to be successful as a TV editor? How is a newsroom structured and who performs which tasks?

Julia Möller, editor at RTL Hessen, will tell you all about this and much more. She graduated in BA German Studies from the University of Kassel in 2012 and has been working in television ever since.

The event will take place on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 16:00-18:00 in room 0019 at Kurt-Wolters-Straße 5. Registration is not required. All interested parties are welcome to attend.
