The position is initially limited for 3 years with the possibility of extension for another 2 years (qualification position according to § 65 HHG in connection with § 2 Abs. 1 Satz 1 WissZeitVG). The possibility of a doctorate is given.

Tasks:

  • Scientific collaboration in research and teaching in the field of programming languages/methodology (e.g., presentation of research results at conferences, collaboration in the application of research projects, tutorial supervision "Algorithms and Data Structures", supervision of student project work).
  • Preparation for a PhD in parallel programming (e.g. task-based parallel programming             rung, productivity of parallel programming systems, fault tolerance on program level)
  • Teaching obligation of 4 SWS according to Hess. Lehrverpflichtungsverordnung

 

Prerequisites:

  • Academic university degree in computer science with above-average success.
  • Very good oral and written skills in German, good English skills
  • Alternatively: Completed doctorate

 

Advantageous are:

  • In-depth knowledge of programming languages, algorithm design  and parallel programming (e.g. MPI,                OpenMP, PGAS languages)
  • Determined, thorough and independent way of working
  • First teaching experience, e.g. through tutoring activities
