Part-time with half of the regular working time of a full-time employee. The position is initially limited for 3 years within the DFG project "DeLiCom" (§ 2 Abs. 2 WissZeitVG). The possibility of doctoral studies is given.

This position is offered to highly motivated students who wish to further develop their scientific career in the field of semiconductor quantum optics. She/he should have a strong interest in basic experimental research and enjoy working in an interdisciplinary environment. The research will be conducted under the supervision of Priv.-Doz. Dr. Mohamed Benyoucef and in close collaboration with other project partners.

Tasks:

  • Molecular beam epitaxy growth of high quality InP-based quantum dots for telecommunication wavelengths.
  • Integration of quantum dots (QPken) into diode and cavity structures
  • Optical and structural characterization of the grown and fabricated structures.

 

Prerequisites:

  • Completed academic graduate studies in physics and/or nanoscience and/or electrical engineering.
  • Excellent academic experience with fundamentals of solid-state physics and semiconductor-based nanostructures
  • Good written and spoken English
