Part Time with half of the regular working hours of a Full Time employment. Temporary employment until the end of the project (end of 2022) within the framework of the excellence initiative of the state of Hesse "SMolBits" ("Scalable Molecular Quantum Bits"). Acquisition of PhD is desirable.

Tasks:

  • Scientific cooperation in the above-mentioned project, especially performing experiments for coherent excitation on Lanthanide molecules in solution using shaped femtosecond laser pulses and evaluation of the acquired data.

Requirements:

  • Degree in physics or physical chemistry
  • Experience with designing and performing physical experiments with lasersEn
  • Experience with interfacing measurement devices in computer programs
  • Fluid verbal and written communication in English

Of advantage will be:

  • Experiences with femtosecond lasers, pulse shaping techniques, optical spectroscopy and coherent control
  • knowledge in scientific publication and presentation on international conferences
  • Thorough and independent working methods
  • A high degree of organizational skill and working in a team
  • Experience in programming languages such as LabView, Python, MatLab and C++
