Teacher as pedagogical assistant (A 12/A 13 HBesG) - in the field of foreign language teaching and learning research & Intercultural Communication

Part-time with half of the regular working hours of a full-time employee, temporary on secondment/partial secondment (subject to funding commitment by the Hessian Ministry of Science and the Arts (HMWK).

Task Profile:

Services to the extent of at least 5 SWS teaching. In addition, the following activities are to be performed as part of the secondment: Preparatory, accompanying and follow-up events within the framework of the practical semester as well as supervision of students of the subject English (L1/L2) during the practical phase at the schools. Coordination of the contents of the courses of the Department of English Studies/American Studies related to the internship semester: Foreign Language Teaching and Learning Research & Intercultural Communication. Active participation in the further development of the department as well as in the further expansion of the Integrated Study Workshop Languages in FB 02 and in the committees related to the internship semester as well as in administrative tasks. Willingness to engage in "Professional Development", especially in the area of digitalization.

Requirements profile:

First and second state examination for the subject English, preferably for the teaching profession at Haupt- and Realschulen (L2) and/or Grundschulen (L1) and Gymnasien (L3) with L2 teaching experience or comparable degree and at least three years of school practice after the second state examination. Very good subject didactic knowledge and very good spoken and written English language skills.

The secondment/partial secondment as a pedagogical employee from the school service is outside the vacancy contingents managed in the business area of the Hessian Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs, initially for a probationary year and can be extended for at least another year subject to further funding commitment by the Hessian Ministry of Science and Art. According to the Ordinance on the Scope of Teaching Obligations for Academic and Artistic Staff at the Universities of the State of Hesse (Teaching Obligations Ordinance), the standard teaching obligation is 9 teaching hours for almost exclusive teaching activities and 7 teaching hours for predominant teaching activities.
