Journalism Workshop: Profession with a future or can it go away?

Media crisis, lying press - journalism has seen better times. And yet it remains a dream job for many. But what does the job of a journalist actually entail, and does it offer career starters good prospects despite gloomy forecasts?

For two days, participants in this workshop can immerse themselves in the theory and practice of the journalism profession. What are the tasks of journalism in society and (how) can it fulfill them? What does everyday journalistic life look like, and where does it take place? What is part of the craft, and how can it be learned? What employment opportunities are there and what are the prospects for the future?

The individual learning contents are worked out and discussed together in the group. In a small writing workshop, participants can try their hand at writing with a pen or keyboard. In addition, there will be enough time for questions to practitioners from various journalistic professions.

Contents:

Tasks of journalism in the past and today
-Framework conditions and business models in changing times
-Professional profiles and occupational fields: Where do journalists work, as what and for whom?
