The professorship deals in research and teaching with the issues of architecture in its typological, structural-spatial, socio-economic, cultural and aesthetic dimensions at the interface to urban development and urban planning.

As part of the curriculum, the professorship imparts basic and in-depth knowledge of architecture and urban planning, supervises introductory design studios, design projects and final theses in the Bachelor's and Master's degree courses and is responsible for the Master's specialization in urban planning in the Architecture degree course. A willingness to cooperate with the specialist areas of urban and landscape planning is a prerequisite.

Applicants should be architects with outstanding design and conceptual achievements who have several years of qualified professional and design experience, including outside the university. Particular value is placed on their own conceptually strong architectural and urban design work as well as knowledge and application-related experience in different building and urban typologies. Experience in research and third-party funding is desirable.

Suitable applicants must have an excellent theoretical and practical track record in the above-mentioned fields, preferably also internationally, and be able to demonstrate relevant teaching experience.
