Job profile:
We are looking for a scientifically outstanding personality with high-ranking publications who represents molecular plant physiology in research and teaching. The future position holder should have an outstanding international reputation in a current research area of molecular plant physiology, e.g. primary metabolism, metabolic networks, plant cell organelle biology, developmental physiology, plant signal transduction, or in the field of plant hormone research, and should represent the subject of plant physiology in teaching in its full breadth. Her/his scientific work should ideally combine physiological, biochemical, and molecular methods. The use of plant model organisms is desired. Collaborations, especially with other departments at the Institute of Biology(www.uni-kassel.de/fb10/institute/biologie/startseite.html), are expected.

In addition, interdisciplinary collaborations in one of the profile-forming foci of the University of Kassel, such as ecological agricultural sciences (www.uni-kassel.de/fb11agrar/) or the Center for Interdisciplinary Nanostructure Science and Technology(www.uni-kassel.de/cinsat/) are welcomed.

Participation in academic self-governance tasks is expected. A habilitation or equivalent qualification in botany or related disciplines, as well as experience in soliciting externally funded research projects is required.
