Research Associate (m/f/d), EG 13 TV-H - in the Department of Spanish and Latin American Literature and Cultural Studies

Part-time with half of the regular working hours of a full-time employee. The employment is for the purpose of replacing an employee during special leave and is initially limited until 30.09.2020 (§ 14 Abs. 1 Nr. 3 TzBfG) with the possibility of extension for 2 years (qualification position according to § 65 HHG in conjunction with § 2 Abs. 1 Satz 1 WissZeitVG). The possibility for doctoral studies is given.

Tasks:

• Realization of a doctoral thesis in the context of the research topics of the department, especially on political and social worlds of Latin America.
• Collaboration in existing research projects
• Support in the acquisition of third-party funded research projects
• Teaching activities in the amount of 2 SWS
• Support in the organization and implementation of conferences and workshops
• Fulfillment of administrative tasks at the Institute of Romance Studies

Requirements:

Completed academic university studies in Romance Studies with a focus on Hispanic Studies (teaching degree or M.A.). Excellent knowledge of Spanish is expected, as well as a strong interest in literary studies with a profile in cultural theory and an interdisciplinary openness to sociological or politological issues. In addition, experience in university teaching (tutorials, etc.) is desired. Ideally, the candidate will have experience abroad and contacts in Latin America, as well as good French language skills.
